As a Medical Science Liaison (MSL), you will provide the vital link between Integra and our physician customers. In this role, you will be responsible for executing the US Medical Affairs strategy plan in the field to support Integra’s products and pipeline assets by enabling scientific exchange, clinical evidence generation, product development, and product education. As an MSL you will develop long-term relationships with a wide variety of key healthcare stakeholders and customers including healthcare professionals (HCPs), payors, and healthcare systems to demonstrate the clinical and economic value of Integra’s products and identify knowledge gaps in clinical/scientific data to enhance the quality of patient care. You will be our subject matter expert on a product line of our Surgical Reconstruction, Tissue Technology portfolio. To be successful, you must work in collaboration with Regulatory Affairs, Marketing, Market Access, R&D, Professional Education, Sales Training, Global Commercial Teams, Enterprise, and other functional teams.

MSL will work under direct supervision of the Director, Medical Affairs – Surgical Reconstruction, Tissue Technologies

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain professional relationships with healthcare professionals (HCPs), thought leaders, medical groups, academic institutions, and national/regional professional societies.

  • Attend national and regional medical meetings and symposia as a representative of Integra and engage in discussions with attendees as appropriate; attend scientific sessions and poster presentations, gather information, and summarize findings.

  • Keep up to date on advances and competing products in therapeutic areas in which the company operates, including plastic and reconstructive surgery; analyze relevant intelligence findings, communicate, and present insightful information to appropriate internal stakeholders.

  • Prepare and deliver fair-balanced and objective clinical and scientific presentations on company products to HCPs, payors, and patient organizations and participate in panel discussions as needed.

  • Collaborate with HCPs and thought leaders on a national, regional, and local level to develop clinical insights that support medical research associated with new and existing products.

  • Organize and execute medical advisory boards and non-promotional educational events (e.g., stand-alone meetings, scientific symposia) within Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance regulations.

  • Provide input to management regarding HCP feedback and opportunities for evidence generation on Integra’s products including case reports, case series, real-world data analysis, registries, and studies aligned with business objectives.

  • Provide Clinical Affairs team with recommendations on investigator and site selection for future trials and studies.

  • Provide clinical and scientific support for HCPs, including answering unsolicited medical inquiries about Integra’s products and other related issues.

  • Identify and train speakers for advisory boards, symposia, and educational programs with company-approved materials, slide sets, abstracts, posters, etc.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Medical Communications, Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, R&D, Professional Education, Commercial Teams, and other functional teams.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Preferred advanced degree (M.D., PharmD, or Ph.D.) in relevant medical or life sciences discipline

  • Experience in healthcare or medical technology fields with + 3 years of Medical Affairs or similar industry experience (preferably in the medical device industry) or a minimum of 5 years progressively responsible in healthcare services or related environment

  • Experience in surgical services including plastic and reconstructive surgery including breast reconstruction is a plus

  • In-depth, hands-on experience working with HCPs, payors, and/or academic institutions establishing/maintaining relationships and scientific/medical credibility

  • Thorough understanding of clinical trial design and demonstrated success in interpreting medical/scientific data and presenting research information to scientists and HCPs

  • Proven track record of effective scientific communication with a wide range of audiences

  • Familiarity with medical device regulations and compliant interactions with HCPs

  • Strong personal integrity, professional demeanor & excellent interpersonal skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication; public speaking skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Analytical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines

  • Excellent planning, organization, and time management skills including the ability to support and prioritize multiple projects

  • Detail-oriented and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

  • Must be able to travel 30-50%
