SUMMARY

The Import Compliance Specialist is responsible for validating and maintaining Import/Export tariff codes, assisting, and supporting, team and Manager to ensure compliance with all US Customs and other Government Agency requirements and regulations relating to import; and other trade compliance matters related to acquisition project(s). This person will assist our global offices as needed. This person will be working to improve compliance and assist with implementing the best business practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Designate customs classifications (HTS, Sch B & ECCN) of all products imported or exported.

  • Assist Global Transportation team as needed.

  • Assist with Compliance Projects as assigned.

  • Assist in internal Export/import audits as assigned.

  • Extract, proof, analyze and update import/export data components, as necessary.

  • Support and assist with CDOP/ECO approval for Trade Compliance department and work with Data Management team to load into Oracle.

  • Dedicated assistance in country-of-origin validation.

  • Assist Manager and Team with daily import/export processes.

  • Support and assist with global classification of all Integra commodities.

  • Ensure compliance with all US government agencies relating to imports.

  • Assist with maintenance of import/export programs.

  • Monitor regulatory changes affecting import regulations, and surface adjustments to business procedures accordingly.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Travel up to 10%.

QUALIFICATIONS

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required for this position.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred. Experience may be substituted if appropriate.

  • Three or more years of experience in Import/Export Customs Compliance & on hand knowledge of International Trade and Import Regulations.

  • Proficiency with US Harmonized Tariff Codes, Schedule B and ECCN Classifications.

  • Ability to develop and update procedures or processes while complying with policies.

  • Strong communication and leadership skills.

  • Proven attention to detail and quality is mandatory.

  • U.S. Customs brokerage license preferred, but not required.

  • Experience with Global Trade Management Software is a plus, but not required.

  • Hazmat Certification with emphasis on IATA preferred, but not required.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proficiency in English

  • Ability to develop and update procedures or processes while complying with policies

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office [Excel], Oracle and Power BI.

  • Outstanding organizational skills in both logistics planning and execution.

  • Aptitude to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency, priority and accuracy,

  • Working knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, Oracle preferred.

  • Ability to work in a matrix team environment and work independently.

  • Experience in a multi-national manufacturing and distribution organization, medical device, or pharmaceutical industry preferred.
