Integra is a leader in applying principles of tissue regeneration to the development of medical products for Surgical Reconstruction, Wound Reconstruction and Care, and others. Reporting to the Director, Exploratory R&D, this Senior Manager level position is responsible for driving the maturation of regenerative technologies into New Product Development opportunities, along with development of associated scientific collateral for effective commercialization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides direction to team of scientists and/or engineers to conduct research and early-stage product development activities

  • Supports strategic identification and assessment of new regenerative technologies and business opportunities for licensing, distribution, or acquisition.

  • Tracks budget and resources for projects within R&D

  • ·Works cross-functionally in Marketing, Product Development, Medical Affairs, and Regulatory to develop and execute project plans that support the divisional strategy to maximize design accuracy, development efficiencies, and post-marketing effectiveness that is consistent with Customer and Payer needs

  • Engages with key Surgeon and Clinician end-users to understand and identify unmet regenerative product needs and develops customer-driven product concepts and product requirements

  • Provides support for the definition of accurate and relevant design inputs and customer requirements during exploration/feasibility phase of development

  • Works with Marketing and Clinical teams to develop post-commercial technical strategies for optimal customer adoption of new product introductions

  • Effectively implements problem solving skills and techniques to identify real and potential issues, assesses the impact, develops and implements mitigation and resolution plans.

  • Employs excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills with all levels of personnel and management to facilitate information flow between team members and senior R&D management.

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position.

  • Ph.D. degree or equivalent in a medical-related field, bioengineering, Tissue Sciences, biomaterials science or medical device science related discipline from an accredited university or college.

  • A minimum of 5 years of research and development or relevant experience with demonstrated increasing levels of responsibility

  • Capability for directing technical personnel.

  • History of operating within Design Control and/or procedures

  • Demonstrated aptitude for current scientific approaches necessary for generating innovative regenerative products within the specified guidelines, timeframes and budgets.

TRAVEL

  • Periodic International travel required as well as travel to and attendance at Physician society conferences and related events throughout the U.S. and Europe.

  • Must be able to travel via car and/or airplane to domestic and international sites.
