Summary Description

The maintenance technician is responsible for performing repairs and maintenance of plant facilities and production equipment, troubleshooting, repair, preventative maintenance and installation of production equipment, components or auxiliary equipment. The maintenance technician must be able to perform basic construction, plumbing and electrical work on plant facilities using hand and power tools and troubleshoot production or facilities equipment and report to the Maintenance Supervisor. This is a 2nd shift position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Primary responsibilities are to:

  • Execute and monitor preventative maintenance program for production and building equipment.

  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and operating difficulties and make necessary repairs or adjustments.

  • Maintain records in accordance with SOPs and protocols.

  • Solicit professional services as required to maintain equipment and the building.

  • Make facilities and production equipment repair/replacement recommendations to management.

  • Perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned by management.

Desired Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: High School diploma or G.E.D. Desired: 2-year degree in Industrial Maintenance or completion of apprenticeship in related field.

  • Experience: 3+ years in facilities and or industrial maintenance, troubleshooting and repair. Strong electrical background is preferred. Experience in reading blueprints and schematic drawing is preferred.

  • Prior cGMP experience is strongly preferred.

  • Excellent organization and communication skills.

  • Must have the ability to multi-task and coordinate workload by priority.

  • Must be customer service and quality driven.

  • Must comply with FDA regulations such as cGMP, GDP, EH&S regulations and company regulations.

Tools and Equipment Used

  • Standard hand and power tools.

  • Ability to use a computer to write reports using word processing (Microsoft Word), send email (Microsoft Outlook) and perform Internet searches using a standard web browser (Internet Explorer), use a telephone as well as other general office equipment.

Physical Requirements

  • While undertaking the essential duties and responsibilities of the position, the employee must have the mobility to move to all areas of the company. The employee may be required to periodically lift and or move up to 25 lbs.
