The incumbent is responsible for maintenance and repair of refrigeration and air conditioning equipment and systems. Will also maintain and give support to production machinery and equipment. Monitors Industrial HVAC utility services for proper functioning. Dismantles and/or repairs devices to gain access to and remove defective parts using hand tools and power tools. Conducts preventive maintenance to all Industrial HVAC equipment in the plant. Performs utility services to the plant general maintenance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Repairs and maintains plant Industrial HVAC equipment and systems, as well as general equipment/systems, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manual and manufacturer's specifications, machinery and mechanical equipment.

  • Sets up and operates welder, drill press, grinder, and other metal working tools to make and repair parts.

  • Performs equipment repairs/upgrades as requested by the supervisor.

  • Assists in the installation of new production equipment and machinery.

  • Maintains tools and workshop clean and organized at all moments.

  • Maintains optimum amounts of spare parts available in stock and properly identified and initiates requisition orders on time.

  • Maintains records and documentation in files organized and updated.

  • Assurance, safety, and security procedures are followed in all equipment operation.

  • Performs general maintenance functions such as painting, carpentry, masonry, and overall repairs as required.

  • Performs Preventive Maintenance routine inspections such as cleaning, lubrication, adjustment, and replacement of components as required per maintenance procedures and schedule.

  • Realizes audits to facilities such as production machines, air conditioners and HEPA filters.

  • Assists in the performance of major repairs, troubleshooting or overhauls of production machinery as necessary.

  • Strong practical knowledge in the maintenance troubleshooting and repair of IndustrialHVAC equipment and systems.

  • Strong technical reasoning and troubleshooting skills, including the reading and interpretation of Industrial HVAC and electrical schematics.

  • Strong knowledge of Preventive maintenance systems.

  • Knowledge of machine shop rules and techniques

  • Ability to work in environments such as noise, grease, and awkward positions.

  • Knowledge in welding techniques

  • Ability to work with different hand tools and power tools.

  • Performs other job-related duties as requested by the Supervisor.

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS – Education and Experience

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position.

  • Refrigerant Technical School or related field is highly desirable.

  • Licensed HVAC Technician

  • 3 to 5 years of proven field experience in the maintenance and repair of HVAC systems.

  • Willingness to adapt from traditional Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and shifted to Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM)

  • Knowledge of FDA, OSHA Federal and Local Regulations with exposure to facility and machine maintenance.

  • Experience on regulated manufacturing facilities CFR 210/211/820 preferred.

  • English/Spanish instructions understanding.

  • Intermediate English Spoken

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED

Computers, specialized software for complaint reporting, general office equipment including, printers, copiers, scanners, and fax machines. Hand tools, power tools, operates welder, drill press, grinder and other metal working tools, Manometers, and Multimeter.
