The incumbent is responsible to perform a variety of operations on assembly line to produce medical devices. Assembles subassemblies or components using different hand tools and equipment until product is completely assembled. Inspects products during each operation visually to correct defects. May be assigned to different work stations as production needs require. Works on line where tasks vary as different models of same product moves to be assembled.

Worker is exposed to usual working conditions for up to 100% of the time or is exposed to equipment noise.

Writes labels for all materials, components, and products with identifying information such as Description, Quantity, Name, etc. Trims, inspects, removes particles on sheeting's, discs, packaging, among others using assembly fixtures, hands, and/or hand tools. Inspects components and/or products during each operation for defects, particles or air bubbles visually requiring extremely accurate and diversified work with constant concentration of visual effort in order to make accept/reject decisions. Reads shop orders, blueprints, and procedures for specifications. Re-works rejected lots from Q.A. Inspectors. Assists group peers in order to complete assigned tasks. May perform non-routine operations according to specifications on shop orders in a separate area either sitting, standing or walking during the working period. Verifies that components and/or products in the work station are present and required protective equipment such as gloves, respirator, and eye protectors are used. Places components and/or products processed in bins according to specifications. Measures, cuts, and counts as required components and/or products using cutters, etc. Fills information on documentation such as Shop Orders, etc. as required. May perform other tasks as different models of some products moves to be assembled. May be assigned to different work stations as production needs require. Assemblers are required to work on priority orders when released before others in order to meet production schedules. Assemblers are responsible for achieving established productivity levels and quality standards. Follows Applicable Standard Operating Procedures, Clean Room Rules and Gowning Practices. Uses the required protective equipment of the assigned work station. Follows Production Order Instructions and the established manufacturing specifications of Drawings, Procedures, and Shop Orders. Maintains work area and tools clean and organized at all times. May be assigned to different work stations as production needs require.

Qualifications:

  • High School graduate or equivalent

  • 3-6 months of experience in medical device manufacturing environment is preferred.

  • Some requirements could be subject to possible modification to reasonably accommodate individuals with disabilities.

  • Rapidity to achieve productivity levels

  • Ability to read and understand English

  • Manual abilities to work with small parts and hand tools

  • Ability to perform variety of operations on different assembly lines
